Karyn Heiss is of counsel with Turnery LG. Karyn has more than 20 years of experience representing public and private sector clients in complex litigation. Karyn focuses her practice on defending professionals and companies in employment, personal injury, general liability, and professional responsibility matters. She provides practical, business-focused legal counsel and develops litigation strategies that align with her clients’ operational objectives while minimizing legal risks.
Karyn has extensive experience managing matters through every stage of litigation from early case evaluation and risk assessment through discovery and motion practice, mediation, trial preparation, and appeals. Additionally, Karyn has experience in administrative law including providing counsel to agency leadership as well as administrative law judges.

Karyn earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri.
Outside of work, Karyn enjoys spending time with her husband, four boys, and three dogs. She enjoys traveling, watching sports, and reading.
